Do I have a treat for you today…A statement rather than a question! No doubt you remember the delicious Tiramisu Smoothie & Mocha Smoothie Bowl recipes I developed using Shooters & Hill Organic Coffee?
As luck would have it, Winston at Shooters & Hill introduced me to this amazing & beautiful lady (both inside & out), Marianela, author of The Fuddhist website. A home grown nutritionist with a love of wellness and healing through food. I think you can see why I think Marianela is fabulous right?
As we all share a love, not only for amazing coffee, but healing through what we eat, we decided to collaborate our recipes. Therefore I bring you this antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-ageing, immune boosting, craving curber of a smoothie…Say hello to the soulful sweetener…Lucuma Matata

For those of you who have followed me from the beginning, you will know I started this blog to capture my journey following a Paleo lifestyle and record how it has helped me live and improve my life with an autoimmune disease.
A place I can record and share my latest Paleo recipe inventions and make new like minded friends. I also want this blog to be a portal for my creative side, somewhere I can share a snapshot of all the things running through my mind at any one time.
Whether these thoughts be food, fashion, health & well-being or just completely random snippets of life. So here it is…a look at what has captured my attention, made me lust after or just something I want to share with you all.
Four Seasons Hotel, Orlando – I cannot say why exactly but this place makes me so happy. It feels like a home away from home. Whenever we are in Orlando, we check in here and suddenly everything feels just right.
Acai Smoothie Bowls – I think these need no explaining, ever since my latest trip to Boston, I’ve been hooked on these. Thankfully Wholefoods near to my office sell them, so I pretty much have Acai in my veins!
Kikki K Wellness Planner – Have you seen these? They are brilliant. A a cross between a personal planner & a journal but designed around health, wellness, mindfullness, nutrition & exercise. I love it.
Boston Common – I had such a great time in Boston a few weeks ago, grabbing almond milk latte at the Thinking Cup and then an early walk through the sun soaked common to start the trail. It’s just been on my mind and another place I’m adding of ‘Places I Want To Live‘
Autumn – Summer was always my favourite but in reality, commuting on trains in 35 degree heat with no aircon really isn’t that appealing. Where as Autumn still has blue skies, warm sunshine but you can wear layers which lets face it, looks extra stylish (see my wardrobe pics here) You can have everything Pumpkin Spice and not feel like a crazy person. Then there is Halloween, hot chocolate in front of the TV before bed, the promise of Christmas just around the corner.
Healthy Cheat Meals – You know I don’t really do cheat meals anymore as it’s too much for my sensitive gut to take. However occasionally I do like to indulge in something resembling comfort food. Before Paleo, my favourite dish was spaghetti carbonara. Thanks to Hemsley & Hemsley I’ve been able to enjoy this dish again without the bloating and gluten attacks to my gut. Celeriac Carbonara is where it’s at for ‘cheat meals’
Thank you for sticking by me whilst I have been somewhat absent these past few weeks. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you how sometimes life just gets in the way. Holidays & work plus home life can sometimes just take 100% of your time. Regardless I’m always on Instagram so follow me now to ensure you never miss any of the happenings over at PALEOinheels. I’ve also been dabbling in Snapchat, and you can find me there at zoepaleoinheels.
It’s been a while since I’ve created a new recipe, so here is my latest. A little taste of the English Summer, using fresh ripe & juicy nectarines and plump sweet raspberries. Seasonal summer Nectarine & Raspberry smoothie
Good morning friends,
I hope your week is going well so far. I’m officially on holiday countdown and therefore I’ve been upping my gym visits and increasing the weight on my resistance training. It will therefore come as no surprise to you my love of adding a scoop of protein powder to my smoothies these days. It also doesn’t hurt that the Paleo protein powder I use tastes absolutely divine, especially the vanilla flavour.
Those of you who follow me on Instagram probably saw me post a picture of these amazing Turkish Delight flavour smoothie bowls I created about a week ago. I promised you the recipe and finally, here it is.
- Two frozen bananas
- Two scoops of chocolate flavoured superfoods such as Amazing Grass
- One tbsp raw cacao powder, extra if not using chocolate superfood powder above
- One cup of frozen berries, I like a mix of blackberries, cherries, grapes & blackcurrants
- One heaped dessert spoon of freeze dried strawberry powder
- One cup dairy free milk such as almond milk
- 1/4 tsp rose water
Optional: Extras & Toppings
- Large handful organic spinach
- tbsp flaxseed oil or ground flaxseed
- Chocolate protein powder
- Fresh berries
- Dried edible rose petals
- Paleo granola
- Dairy free yoghurt
- Hemp seeds
- cacao nibs
- Bee pollen
- Chopped nuts
- Conscious chocolate Love Potion No9
- Place all ingredients into a high powered blender such as a Vitamix along with spinach, flaxseed & protein powder if using.
- Blend until smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
- Pour into two bowls and top with your favourite toppings.
Easily adapt this recipe into a smoothie by adding extra one cup of dairy free milk or iced water. Please note the flavours will be more subtle so adapt to taste.
